Abby & Kyle Kelham Hall Wedding

I had the pleasure of working with a lovely couple last year, designing and making their bespoke tree centre pieces.

Abby first met me at a wedding fayre in Mansfield, and she was full of happiness and excitement about planning her up-coming wedding with husband-to-be, Kyle Hickinbotham!

They knew exactly what they wanted for their venue centre pieces, so later that week I started to design something similar to the picture they had shown me, but with unique elements which would be individual to their special day.

I then set about mocking up a basic example to help give me an idea of how long they would take to make, and how much supplies I'd need to create the 16 centre pieces!

I absolutely love the design process and getting feed back from clients is crucial, so that together we create the perfect floral arrangement.

I usually work with fresh flowers, however Abby and Kyle decided on faux flowers so that they could keep the unique arrangements after their wedding, and give them to family and friends as an extra special gift.

I thought that this was a lovely idea, a true and treasured keepsake :)

During the week of their wedding I began making the 16 trees from scratch. I'd sourced the best quality faux flowers and foliage in a soft romantic colour pallet of whites, greens and pink. The branches which were to form the tree centre pieces, were collected during dog walks with my late dog Ellie.

Each branch was different in size and shape which gave every arrangement a slightly unique look, however the uniformity of the same flowers and colours added structure to the designs.

The domed ceiling at Kelham Hall where the Hickinbotham's wedding reception was held was AMAZING! Such grandeur and space needed tall table centre pieces, so the ones I created were over 1m tall.

It really makes me happy when I can match the floral arrangements to suit the individual venue.

Once the bespoke hand-made trees were done I sent over a photo to Abby and was thrilled to receive her feed back!

During the set up at Kelham Hall, you could really stand back and admire these unique centre pieces.

The soft pink tones of the flowers. The tiny wired fairy lights woven delicately around the beautiful blooms and foliage. Diamantes hanging beneath twinkled as the light caught them. Ivy wrapped around the real twisted branches. They really did look stunning. Complete one-off's, unique to Abby and Kyle's special day. Hand-made with love, care and attention to detail. And most importantly, the clients adored them!
